ATV Offroad Fury Pro
Rev the engines and take to nature's tracks.

April 24, 2006 - Just as Climax Group and Sony have expanded its ATV series on the PlayStation 2 in just about every way with the forthcoming ATV Offroad Fury 4, they're set to do the same on the PSP with ATV Offroad Fury Pro. Featuring more than 30 vehicles in total, Fury Pro goes well past just ATV racing as it includes MX bikes, buggies and trophy trucks in addition to the four-wheeled all-terrain vehicles. Any combination of these vehicles can be raced on the game's included 64 tracks, some of which are best-of tracks from previous games in the ATV Offroad Fury series that were previously unavailable on the PSP, deemed Legend tracks.

In addition to the returning Practice, Lap Attack, Single Race, Championship and Freeride modes, ATV Offroad Fury Pro will ship with a large assortment of new race types. Endurocross sees ATVs and MX bikes mix it up on indoor, obstacle-based courses. Rallycross features buggies and trucks on large outdoor courses, or Circuit courses on specialized track designs. Exclusive to ATV on the PSP, Snowcross tracks puts players on skidoos in snowy courses, while Rally races sit you behind the wheel of a rally car.

ATV Offroad Fury Pro comes with an enhanced track editor that offers up more customizability than previously available in any of the ATV titles, such as the ability to create tighter turns and taller ramps. The coolest aspect though is that you're able to trade created tracks between Fury Pro and the ATV Offroad Fury 4 on the PlayStation 2. In fact, the entire online community set will be shared between the two games, making it possible to share tracks and other data between the two games.

A number of new mini-games have worked their way into Fury Pro as well. Rings of Fire has players attempt to race though a series of rings (on fire, of course), and players will be able to create their own fire-oriented tracks by using the game's franchise-based waypoint editor. Card Battle will allow players the ability to bet gear, vehicles, parts and more on races. Pool will have players hop on an ATV that acts as a cue ball and attempt to knock a table-full of balls into the pockets. Pool is single-player only, though Rings of Fire and Card Battle are able to be played wirelessly via both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure modes.

ATV Offroad Fury Pro on the PSP and ATV Offroad Fury 4 on the PS2 allow for trading data between the two games. You can upload and trade created tracks between the two titles, as well as vehicles, some of which you'll only be able to unlock by owning both versions.

The game hasn't even reached Alpha and yet it still looks and runs very well. The vehicles handle very similarly to ATV 4 on the PS2, which is to say they feel great. Visually this is a really nice looking game on the PSP, featuring a long draw distance, tons of foliage and random objects trackside and a steady framerate, even this far out from its release.

ATV Offroad Fury Pro is currently scheduled for release this October. We'll be able to see more of the game at this year's E3 next month, so check back for more info then.

Kinda lost interest in Fury 3 after playing "Unleashed." Seemed to fall after Rainbow stopped making the 3rd one......
Shut up and just meet me in the woods...boy....
